Cheap underpowered capacitors on power supply

| This TV only lasted a year and a half before it wouldn't power on. After looking around on the internet, I discovered these TVs have wide spread capacitor issues. They are underpowered and are cheap. They also sit right next to 2 large heat sinks on the board. Of course I had to call numerous times and escalate with Samsung before they finally admitted to the issue and they sent me a prepaid label to send it in to their outsourced NJ service center. 3 weeks and several calls later my TV has finally arrived fixed sans my hardware to connect the base to the TV. Now I'm scrambling to track these parts down. And Samsung blames me for sending in the parts so they won't replace them. Oh well, at least my TV works. I'll probably try a Sony next time. |
Didn't last / no customer support

| After 15 months and 4 days, the power went bad (stand-by power, but nothing else) and Samsung refuses to do anything other than have me pay for repair (gee, an almost $700 TV and it's probably going to cost at least a couple hundred to repair!!, not to mention, that I'm now waiting for 3-4 business days just to be contacted by a service rep so I can get an estimate). A TV this expensive should last longer than 15 months. It is infuriating that Samsung refuses to stand behind it's product quality. As far as I'm concerned there simply is no such thing to Samsung... and I personally will never purchase one of their products again... therefore, be forewarned. |

After much reviewing and persistant requesting (nagging...hahahah!) from my wife, I bought this TV for our bedroom. Initially I wanted a TV/DVD combo but then I thought that I can always connect my computer to the TV and watch movies if I want to and besides there aren't many LCD TV/DVD combos in 32 inches available in the market and the ones available are either too expensive or have not scored that many points. So that was the back ground of it.
The TV....oh man...what a TV. Really love it. It is 720p and I do not have HD programming so this TV is perfect for SD streaming. The picture is so crisp and clear. The sound which was my main criteria of selection since it was for the bedroom, is very clear, does not echo or distort.
There is a sweet sound that I love when the TV is turned on and off. It is light weight.
Ironically, even though the TV is so good I had to hang it --- on the wall, yes I wall mounted it with the help of my friend.
I am guessing this TV is getting replaced by newer TVs, so u wud expect its price to go down but this TV is so good I doubt they will further reduce its price. It's worth the money.
Hey Amazon guys, I really hope people read this review and buy this TV and if that happens, if the sales of this TV goes up then I shall be waiting for a handsome reward from u....hahahaha! |
A Bad Dream?

| I hate to write negative reviews on products but this tv deserves it. I bought this tv a few days ago and couldn't believe how terrible the picture was. Could I have been having a bad dream in which I couldn't awake? The picture had terrible blacks if you can call them blacks. They looked more like dirty dishwater. The picture was a washed out gray. Colors seemed to all run together. They seemed so undefined to my eyes. Colors reminded me of wet watercolors all running together. I tried every adjustment I could think of to get the picture to look better but no success. The only things I liked about the entire tv was the sound and the looks of the tv. The black shiny set had a real sexy sleek look to it. I liked the frequency sliders to tune the sound to my preference. When comparing the picture of the Samsung to my two Philips lcds, there was not contest. The Philips picture was so much better than this set.I wasn't able to look at the picture using a dvd player because the HDMI and component imputs would not work. I kept getting an onscreen message telling me that there was no signal detected. Anyway, I figured maybe I just got a defective unit. I took the tv back and decided to try again. I exchanged it for the exact same model. When I got the second Samsung all hooked up, the picture was just as terrible. Could I have gotten two models in a row that were defective? I don't think so. This time the HDMI, Component, and composite inputs worked. I couldn't get a descent picture even with my blu-ray player connected to the HDMI input. What a let down I felt with this piece of junk. Another annoying thing about this model was the remote. You can't just push station numbers on the remote to switch from watching dvds to watching tv. You have to push the source button first. I've never had this type of setup on any of my lcd tvs. I've always been able to go directly to a tv station from any input by pushing a station number. I would advise any potential buyers of this set to refrain. I don't think you'll be happy with it unless you are comming directly from the crt tvs and don't know how good a lcd set can look. Stay away from this one.Samsung LN32A330 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV |
Great 720p HD TV

| This product is a very good product for a 720p TV. I was impressed, and always have been impressed with Samsung TV's. For the price very good TV. I went with this one right now, because I am going to get a Full HD when we get a new house. It does have a fewer options than I would like: such as only two HDMI inputs, but again I will get more with a Full HD TV someday. I would recommend just about any Samsung TV. |

Have two samsung monitors and a 26" lcd tv. All amazing. Just picked this 32" one up and... well... it's horrendous.
Very dim and washed out picture. Set to dynamic it's very pixelated. But since most here say it's got a great picture maybe I just got a bad one. (sound is great) At any rate, it's going back. |

I recently purchased this TV from Best Buy and really, really wanted to love it. The picture was great for TV and movies, the sound was good, the price was excellent and I liked the look of the sleek, black thing sitting on my entertainment center. Made me feel good.
When I fired up the 360 to test for motion blur, though, this TV broke my heart. I'm one of those lucky people who are extremely sensitive to motion blur in video games; it makes me almost instantly nauseous, and unfortunately this TV blurred like no other.
If motion blur doesn't bother you (according to teh internetz it has something to do with the way your brain processes the image, so it might not), or you don't game, then check this TV out; it was gorgeous. Otherwise, I cannot recommend it. |
